Building a network early on is critical for future success in the workplace. The earlier you start building your network, the better off you will be later.

Within the Professional Development & Experiential Learning site,  we offer many avenues throughout the year that will help you get started on building your social capital. Your connections will provide you with valuable mentorship, industry insights, and even unlock opportunities within the hidden job market.

Build your network and learn about key industries through discussions with an industry professional. Having a mentor is an outstanding way to gain insight, obtain feedback, and develop additional career skills for the future. Our program also offers student-to-student mentorship opportunities.

Each year UBC hosts an array of career fairs. These large-scale events are an opportunity to connect with employers who are often hiring for student and full-time opportunities. Network with recruiters and managers from different industries and discover available opportunities.
