About the Team

We are an engineering student design team at the University of British Columbia dedicated to the design, manufacture, and launch of suborbital rockets. At Spaceport America Cup 2017, we won in the 10,000 feet Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) category our Cypress rocket. In 2019 we placed third at Spaceport America 2019 with Sky-Pilot in the 30,000 feet COTS category. We most recently launched our Silvertip rocket at IREC 2022, as well as our first ever two stage solid motor rocket, Tantulus, at the inaugural Launch Canada competition in 2022. Our eventual goal is to send a rocket to the edge of space - about 300,000 feet up!

Time Commitment

6-9 hours weekly, with accommodations for exams/holidays and a bigger commitment leading up to competitions in the summer
