About the Team

Sustaingineering was founded in summer 2014 by Dr. Martin Ordonez at the University of British Columbia’s Vancouver campus with the dream of motivating students to take action on global sustainability issues through technology. Sustaingineering has grown to be a one-of-a-kind multidisciplinary team. It consists of over 60 active members working on several fields, from designing a monitoring system for solar panels to developing an education program in hopes of enhancing youth’s interest in STEM and sustainability. The team has active collaborations with several NGOs, companies and schools in Canada, Mexico, Nepal, and Nicaragua as well as a strong summer exchange program with its sister branch in Tec de Monterrey, Mexico.
