Eligibility
This fund was created to support events hosted by equity affinity groups to financially support them towards reaching their Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Indigeneity (EDI.I) goals in the UBC Engineering Community. Examples of events we support include:
- Community building events
- Networking and Industry Nights
- Study Nights
We will also help support membership fees for your group’s affiliation.
There is no minimum engineering student representation requirement for this fund.
We accept applications year-round from all UBC Applied Science Students seeking to improve equity, diversity, inclusion and indigeneity in the Faculty of Applied Science.
Funding Available
Recognized Applied Science E-IDEAS Student Groups (WiE, NSBE, .caISES, ACCEPT, Gears & Queers) that have completed the SuperApp application may apply for:
- Up to $1,500.00 per registered student group per year
Any Applied Science student seeking to advance EDI initiatives within the Faculty of Applied Science may apply for:
- Up to $500 per event
Before Your Event
At least 3 weeks before your event, email a completed E-IDEAS Event Planning Form to eideas@apsc.ubc.ca.
This form is a one-page fillable PDF document with the following prompts:
- How will this event support Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Indigeneity initiatives in the Faculty of Applied Science? (100 words)
- Detailed event itinerary
- Budget and expenses
After Your Event
Within 60 days of your event:
- Attach a completed Expense Reimbursement Form to finance@apsc.ubc.ca
- Attach a Event Reflection Form to eideas@apsc.ubc.ca
